We hired L. Bodner Real Estate Inc., Brokerage at the request of our uncle (94) who was planning to sell his family home and settle into a retirement residence.  David’s father had been a business acquaintance, and Uncle Ed felt that he could trust the Bodners.  As usual, he was right.  We are not from Toronto and were long-distance sellers, so we had no prior knowledge of the real estate market in the city.

David and Vicki felt like family from the outset.  There was no job too menial for them to handle, with good advice and guidance.  They know the area and its resources.  They made themselves available and were very flexible with arrangements that needed to be made.  They are pleasant to be with and made a potentially sad event into a positive and exciting experience for Uncle Ed.  They found good buyers for a cherished home and gave excellent advice regarding pricing, offers and legal matters.  They provided us with all the information that we needed to make appropriate decisions along the way without attempting to influence our choice.  They then supported whatever decision we made.  They recommended a friendly lawyer in Toronto who was ultimately helpful in matters beyond the sale of the home.

One of the many things we appreciated about David and Vicki is that they did not go overboard with “staging” and turning the home into a showpiece.  They helped us to highlight the home’s good features, but did not cause excessive work trying to make it attractive to the masses.  They did a lot of hands-on work themselves, actually moving furniture around and sprucing up the yard – an indication of the personal investment that they have in selling your property – which, for that moment, has become “their” property.

David and Vicki truly did feel like family, and that feeling has grown as they have become good friends.
